All My Life - Evan Dando song, written by Ben Lee, featured on the album Baby I'm Bored. Lee wrote this song always intended for Evan to sing, and tried to write it from Dando's perspective. Lyrics.

Amazing Grace - Lemonheads song, a punky reworking of the traditional Christian hymn, featured on the album Hate Your Friends. Lyrics.

Amory Arms - Record label, who were responsible (along with Huh Bag records) for the release of the Lemonheads' first record, Laughing All The Way To The Cleaners. Owned by Patrick Amory, a DJ (at the time) at Boston radio station WHRB.

A Song For You - Originally written and performed by Gram Parsons, and often covered by Evan Dando in his live performances. Lyrics.

Armstrong, Craig - Scottish producer and composer, renowned for his work on soundtracks for several films including Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, and Love Actually. Evan Dando provided vocals for (and co-wrote) the song Wake Up In New York for Armstrong's 2002 album As If To Nothing.

Arnold, Mark - Former member of M.I.A. and All Systems Go, toured with The Lemonheads in 2006, working behind the sound desk and contributing lead guitar on live performances of Become The Enemy.

Ashley, Devon - Former drummer with The Pieces, and member of Those Young Lions, played with The Lemonheads on their autumn/winter 2006 world tour.

Atlantic - Record label to whom Lemonheads signed in 1990. Atlantic released four Lemonheads albums, and a best of compilation, before they parted company in 1998.

Ba de da - Originally by Fred Neil (and found on his albums Do You Ever Think Of Me, Everybody's Talkin, and The Many Sides of Fred Neil) and recorded by Evan Dando for the Griffith Sunset EP - on which it is featured twice! Lyrics.

Balancing Act - Originally by Volcano Suns, from their album The Bright Orange Years, Lemonheads recorded this as a double A-side with Galveston.

Ballad of El Goodo - Big Star song, to be found on their albums Story and No.1 Record/Radio City, covered by Evan Dando for the Empire Records soundtrack. Lyrics.

Ballarat - Lemonheads song, written by Evan Dando, the opening track of the album Lovey. Many have tried, but as yet we've been unable to decipher the lyrics!

Bannister, Michelle - The female star of the video for My Drug Buddy.

Bar/None Records - New Jersey based record label, who put out the US release of Evan Dando's 2003 album Baby I'm Bored.

Be A Lemonhead (Beautiful Junkie) - Song written about Evan Dando and released in 1996 by The Elevator Drops.

Beautiful - Originally a hit for Christina Aguilera, covered by The Lemonheads on the album Varshons.

Berends, Ruud - Head of Dutch booking firm Paperclip, Ruud was responsible for booking the 1989 European tour which convinced Lemonheads to reform after briefly parting ways.

Berz, George - Has played with Dinosaur Jr, J Mascis & The Fog, and Mike Watt. Drummed with Evan Dando on recent solo tours and under the Lemonheads banner. Most recently, George stepped in to play drums on the Autumn 2008 European tour, when the previous drummer had to exit the tour for personal reasons.

Blasting Room Studios - Recording studio in Fort Collins, Colorado in which The Lemonheads recorded their 2006 self-titled album.

Boner, Freda Love - Drummer with the Blake Babies and The Mysteries Of Life, both of which bands have played live with The Lemonheads.

Breath of Salt Water Recordings - The record label imprint on which Evan Dando's 2003 album Baby I'm Bored was released.

Brennan, Corey Loog - Member of the Lemonheads for one full album (Lick), he also featured on the album Lovey, and toured Europe with the band. Corey would like us to believe he attended Commonwealth High School in Boston with Evan and Ben, despite being a few years older than the boys! Brion, Jon - Solo artist, composer and producer, Brion produced the album Baby I'm Bored, and was a co-writer of several tracks on the album.

Bullet Lavolta - Band formed by Corey Loog Brennan, Clay Tarver and Bill Whelan - who played several gigs with Lemonheads in the early years. An later line-up of the band toured Europe with Lemonheads in 1989.

Carlisle, Belinda - Former member of the Go-Gos, and solo artist whose hits included Heaven Is A Place On Earth and I Get Weak. Carlisle provided backing vocals on the track I'll Do It Anyway, which was written for her.

Casella, Curtis - The man behind Taang! Records, with whom Lemonheads released their first three albums (for which he was also executive producer). Former DJ at Boston's WHRB.

Cazzo di Ferro - Lemonheads song, written by Evan Dando and Corey Brennan, and featured on the album Lick. Based on the Superfetazione song Depressed and, according to Jesse, written about the TV show Ironside. Lyrics.

Dalton, Nic - Once claimed that his date of birth is 6th June 1966 (in reality it's 14th November 1964). Nic Dalton joined Lemonheads as bassist, shortly after the release of the album It's A Shame About Ray, and was involved in much of the touring and promotional work for the album. He stayed with the band long enough to record and promote the next album (Come On Feel), before returning to his native Australia to run his record label Half A Cow. Exclusive Interview.

Dando, Evan - Born 4th March 1967, Evan Griffith Dando is one of the founding members of the Lemonheads, and the only member to have featured in all line ups of the band.

Dando, Holly - Sister of Evan Dando, featured in the videos for Luka, Mallo Cup and Half The Time, as well as the occasional live vocal performance with her brother.

Dandy Warhols, The - Indie rock band formed in Portland, OR in 1994. Evan co-wrote their 2003 single You Were The Last High.

Daughtry, Ben - Drummer with Lemonheads from mid-1989 to early 1990, you'll find him in the Half The Time video.

Dave and Darlene Music - The company who hold the publishing rights to the vast bulk of the Lemonheads back catalogue. Named after a series of prank calls made to friend of the band Dave, by Evan posing as a young woman called Darlene - which culminated in unilateral phone sex for Dave!

Dawn Can’t Decide - Lemonheads song, written by Evan Dando and Nic Dalton, and featured on the album Come On Feel The Lemonheads. Evan said of the song: "On the day we first demo-ed it we had stayed over our friend Jesse's house. I stole a pair of his sox, underwear and a T-shirt: hence the line: 'feels good to be Jesse on the inside today'." Lyrics. Sheet Music.

Deily, Ben - A founding member of Lemonheads, for the first three albums Ben Deily shared writing and singing duties with Dando. Ben left the band circa 1989, and went on to record with the bands Varsity Drag and Pods. Ben Deily website.

Deily, Jonno - Brother of Ben, and drummer with the Lemonheads for a few gigs in the summer of 1988. Also a founding member of PODS with Ben.

Depp, Johnny - Actor and star of such movies as Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow and the Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogy, Depp featured in the promo video for It's A Shame About Ray. Johnny Depp is a personal friend of Evan Dando, and Evan has stated that the phrase Big Gay Heart was inspired by Depp's house, known as the Big Gay House.

Dickies - Over the years, Evan has paid tribute to this offbeat Los Angeles punk band with a well-worn yellow t-shirt bearing their name.

Die, Evan Dando, Die - Jeff Fox’s anti-Dando fanzine began a short-lived run in January 1994. Article about the publication.

Different Drum - Written by Mike Nesmith of The Monkees, and originally recorded by Linda Ronstadt with the Stone Poneys (available on several albums). Covered by Lemonheads and released on 1990's Favorite Spanish Dishes EP. Lyrics.

Dirty Robot - Song from the album Varshons, featuring model Kate Moss on lead vocals. Originally recorded by Arling & Cameron.

DKT/MC5 - MC5 were a rock band of the 1960s and 70s, perhaps most notable for their album Kick Out The Jams. Evan Dando was guest vocalist for a new incarnation of the band as part of their 2004 tour.

Epic Soundtracks - Solo artist, brother of Nikki Sudden, and drummer with several bands before his death in 1997. Co-wrote C'mon Daddy with Evan Dando.

Fountains Of Wayne - New York based indie pop band, who have been playing together since 1986. Had their biggest hit in 2003 with the song Stacy's Mom - the tour that followed featured Evan Dando as a support act.

Fraulein - Townes Van Zandt tune, featured on the Drama Falls Like Teardrops album, covered by Evan Dando on the Griffith Sunset EP. Lyrics.

Fruit Child Large - Short-lived touring band featuring Evan Dando, Juliana Hatfield, Howe Gelb and Jon Convertino. The band played songs by all the member's main bands, as well as some country covers.

Frying Pan - Originally by Victoria Williams, from her Happy Come Home album. Recorded by Evan for Sweet Relief, a benefit album in her honour. A live version is also featured on Evan's Brattle Theatre album. Lyrics.

Fucked Up - Lemonheads song, written by Ben Deily, and featured on the Hate Your Friends album and the Laughing All The Way To The Cleaners EP (as So I Fucked Up). Lyrics.

Fuzzy - Boston quartet, which David Ryan seems to have been an on/off drummer with. Their second album Electric Juices was released on Tag.

Galasso, Dino - Tour Manager/Sound engineer for Evan Dando and The Lemonheads whose relationship with the band goes back to the release of Ray in 1992.

Gallagher, Noel - Singer/songwriter and guitarist with British group Oasis. Co-wrote the song Purple Parallelogram with Evan Dando.

Galloway, Alison - Friend of Evan Dando, and ex-girlfriend of Nic Dalton. Subject of the song Alison's Starting To Happen.

Galveston - Written by Jimmy Webb, and recorded by Glen Campbell. Covered by Lemonheads and released as a double A-sided single with Balancing Act in 1997. Lyrics.

Gibson, Bill - Gibson has been described as "one of Australia's finest exports" and has belonged to such bands as Eastern Dark and New Christs. Played bass and guitar with Lemonheads on Car Button Cloth, and toured extensively with the band.

Gilbert, Rich - Has worked with countless acts, including Tanya Donnelly, Frank Black and of course Lemonheads - playing pedal steel guitar on Car Button Cloth.

Givegoods, The - Australian band, formed by Tom Morgan and Andy Calvert.

Godstar - Nic Dalton's band, who released two studio albums and several singles on Nic's Half A Cow label between 1992 and 1997.

Gonna Get Along Without You Now - released as a 7" single, and on the 12" Patience and Prudence EP. Lyrics.

Goggin, Bryce - Record producer who has worked with countless artists, including Spacehog, The Breeders and Pavement. Producer on Car Button Cloth and Baby I'm Bored also credited for vocals, moog, organ and "banging" on Car Button Cloth!

Hatin' Spores - A Black Sabbath covers band consisting of Evan Dando, Ben Deily and John Strohm, who played a couple of shows, including one opening for the Meat Puppets.

Hazel, P. David - Drummer who became part of The Lemonheads' touring line up in August 2008, had to exit the tour for personal reasons in early October.

Heavy - 1995 film starring Liv Tyler, Shelley Winters and Debbie Harry. Evan Dando stars as Jeff, boyfriend to Tyler's character' Callie. Evan is frequently with guitar in the film, and performs several songs on the soundtrack.

He’s On The Beach - Originally by Kirsty MacColl (her version can be found on the albums What Do Pretty Girls Do, The One And Only and Galore) covered by Lemonheads as a B-side for the single Big Gay Heart. One of two tracks that Evan Dando performed at the tribute concert for Kirsty in 2002. Lyrics.

Lyon, Kenny - Writer and musician, involved with several bands including Brazzavile and Divinyls, played guitars and bass with Lemonheads on Car Button Cloth and Galveston/Balancing Act.

MacColl, Kirsty - Daughter of folk singer Ewan MacColl, and successful solo artist, Kirsty MacColl had her first single out in 1979 and continued recording until her untimely death in 2000. Evan Dando collaborated with MacColl on her version of Perfect Day, and the Lemonheads covered her song He's On The Beach. Evan joined many other musicians to play a tribute concert in her memory in 2002.

MacKenna, Hannah - Grade school classmate and ex-girlfriend of Evan Dando, and one of the title stars of the song Hannah & Gabi.

Mad - Lemonheads song, written by Evan Dando. The first song ever recorded by Lemonheads, during the session for Laughing All The Way To The Cleaners, but not released until it's inclusion on the B-side of Luka. Lyrics.

Minogue, Kylie - Australian ex-soap star and huge international pop star. Kylie and Evan were rumoured to be going out when she spent some time with him in Sydney. Dando has stated that nothing happened between them.

Miss Otis Regrets - Written by Cole Porter and recorded by many artists including Marlene Dietrich, Linda Ronstadt, Rosemary Clooney and Kirsty MacColl before Lemonheads recorded their version as the hidden track on Come On Feel. Lyrics.

Morgan, Tom - Frontman of Smudge, has written several songs for and with Evan Dando, the pair have been regular collaborators since meeting in Australia in the early 90s.

Moses, Elizabeth - Newcastle born British model, Evan Dando's wife, and photographer (and cover star) of Baby I'm Bored.

Mrs. Robinson - Originally by Simon & Garfunkel, and featured in the 1967 film The Graduate. Lemonheads covered this song to promote the video release of the same film. Was released as a single and added on to the reissue of the album It's A Shame About Ray.

Murphy, Emmett Patrick - "Murph" was drummer with Dinosaur Jr until 1993. Drummed with Lemonheads on Car Button Cloth and the Balancing Act/Galveston single.

His profile has only grown since his death in 1973, and his work has been an influence of many artists, including Evan Dando who has covered several of his songs (including $1000 Wedding, How Much I’ve Lied, Sin City, Streets of Baltimore, Brass Buttons and Hot Burrito #1) and performed for a tribute CD and a concert in Parsons' memory.

The Great Big No - Lemonheads song, written by Evan Dando and Tom Morgan, and featured as the opening track of the album Come On Feel The Lemonheads. From the press pack for that album: "This number was written the day after "Ray" was mastered. Tom started it...by the time morning came it was a real song about the empty, endless void". Lyrics. The Jello Fund - Final listed track of the Lemonheads album Come On Feel... An experimental piano track, with a brief song about Lenny Kravitz and followed by a hidden track. The title is a reference to the money made by the Dando family when they appeared in a commercial for Jell-O in 1972.

True, Everett - UK journalist, having written for Melody Maker among others, True is currently Editor-in-chief of Plan B Magazine. True published a biography of the Lemonheads in 1994, and has more recently recorded as The Legend!, and released a 7" of songs originally by Dan Treacy of Television Personalities.

TT The Bears - Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts - home to several Lemonheads gigs over the years, including one of their earliest shows, supporting The Pagans in May 1987, and the release party for Hate Your Friends in June of the same year.

Two Weeks in Another Town - Lemonheads song, written by Ben Deily, featured on the album Creator. Lyrics.

Two Weeks In Australia - Video released in 1993, partly a tour diary tracking Evan and the boys break in Australia following the release of It's A Shame About Ray, and partly a collection of promotional videos.

Tyler, Liv - Actress and star of films such as Stealing Beauty, Armageddon and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Evan Dando's co-star in Heavy, Tyler also provided guest vocals on a version of Shots is Fired, featured on the B-side to Stop My Head single, and additional vocals on the track Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye from the album Varshons.

Tyler, Steven - Father of Liv, and frontman of rock band Aerosmith. Said to be the subject of the Lemonheads song C'mon Daddy.

Vega, Suzanne - Solo singer, who has released several albums from 1985 to 2001. She is the woman behind the original version of Luka. Can heartily recommend her self-titled debut album to anyone!

Ving, Lee - Lead singer of 1980s punk band Fear, also an actor on the side with roles in films including Flashdance. Toured with Evan Dando in 2004.

Virgins - Much talked about, if not active in recording or performing, super group featuring Evan Dando, Ryan Adams (Whiskeytown), James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins) and Melissa Auf Der Maur (Hole).
