Hello, I am Ambidextrina from Paris, France

Postby Ambidextrina » Sun Feb 22, 2009 7:40 pm

Hello,
I am Ambidextrina. I’m a Dando fan, German and live in Paris.

Thank you for running evandando. co. uk! C'est super sympa!

I kind of consider Evan as one of my guitar teachers back in the nineties (Neil Young, too), when I learned to play their tunes. Four years ago I switched to ukulele though.
I was so happy to hear that the Lemonheads were going to play in Paris last September. It really felt as if I was going to meet an old friend who’s coming to town. Full of good feelings and thoughtfull as I am, I wanted the Lemonheads to have a relaxed start to their European tour, before going to the Netherlands. So I (briefly) met Evan in La Maroquinerie after the show and gave him a present.
He enjoyed it! Got a big smile on his face and thanked me very politely! I guess the home video “hand rolled tobacco” on Evan’s YouTube shows the French cigarette paper I gave him with it. Black OCB, actually.

I am now looking forward to downloading the bootleg from La Maroquinerie show in 2008.

Des bisous!

the show was pretty good actually - and better than the 2006 one which was excellent too (even though the bootleg I did may not show it entirely) - lots lots of energy and P. on drums was absolutely fine (love his sound btw)!!

I wass really really happy you did "rocking stroll" (yelled for it!).

Oh yes, I found it excellent, too. And loud. It was my first Evan live ever!

I like it when it's loud; it wasn't the case with the Stranglers at Olympia recently, and last Saturday I've seen Sisters of Mercy (yes, I am that old) at the Bataclan - shite sound.

Thank you so much for the recording. Last time I didn't manage to download, somehow the zip was empty, but now it worked :D

Remi, fancy doing a French cover version of your favorite Lemonheads song?
Or mine?

You're welcome!

Well we used to play "l'hôpital" :-)

Maybe I'll think about recording it...

What's yours favorite Lemonheads song you'd like to be covered in French? (we couls start a new topic then!)

Remi

I am currently working on Rudderless, Down About It and Divan on ukulele. :guitar:
In English though; I haven’t translated the lyrics by now.

A nice challenge!

Des bisous, Ambidextrina
