The return of Evan Dando from drugs, burnout and wasted talent hell is a real reason to be cheerful. Baby I’m Bored, his comeback album, has been one of the surprise successes of 2003, a record packed with sweet nuggets of country-tinged rock, of which Stop My Head is perhaps the best. A happy mix of plinky piano, bouncy guitars, tight harmonies and Dando’s trademark lazy drawl, it’s the sound of a man enjoying himself again. Ace.
